Assistant Operations Manager / Operations Manager
Location: Pasir Gudang, Johor
Industry: Palm Oil Refinery / Manufacturing
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: RM7,000 – RM10,000 (depending on experience & qualifications)
Working Hours: Monday–Friday (8:30am–5:30pm) / Manager level (9:00am–6:00pm)
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Operations Manager / Operations Manager to join a well-established manufacturing company in Pasir Gudang. This role oversees the full spectrum of operations including logistics, inventory, tank farm management, weighbridge, compliance, documentation, and customer fulfilment to ensure seamless day-to-day efficiency within the refinery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations including receiving, despatch, tank farm activities, and weighbridge functions.
- Manage raw material and finished product inventory; prepare accurate planning charts in coordination with Marketing and Production teams.
- Monitor stock variances closely and initiate prompt corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery to domestic and international customers.
- Work closely with Laboratory teams to address quality matters and customer complaints.
- Liaise with shipping agents, port authorities, logistics partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Supervise preparation and verification of shipping, export, and customs documentation.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal policies.
- Monitor, analyse, and control logistics and operational costs.
- Ensure operational compliance with certifications: HACCP, GMP, HALAL, RSPO, MSPO, ISCC.
- Lead workforce planning, coaching, training, and competency development for the operations team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous operational improvement.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years of operational experience, preferably within a palm oil refinery or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of refinery operations, logistics, inventory, and supply chain processes.
- Familiarity with PORAM contracts, MPOB regulations, and Incoterms is an advantage.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations and lead cross-functional teams effectively.

- Position is a replacement hire.
- Two rounds of interviews (final with Senior Factory Manager).
- Housing is not provided.
- Successful candidates must be able to work on-site in Pasir Gudang.
