Job description:

RESPONSIBILITIES

The roles and responsibilities of the above position will be as follows:-

1. Key focus on financial reporting work including support and analysis for corporate/M&A

transactions as required.

2. Oversee the Finance team on the daily operations including Accounts, Group Consolidation

and Store function for the Plantation business segment.

3. Responsible for the overall accounting functions of the companies within the group which

includes preparation of finance and management reports, annual budget reports, costing

reports, fixed assets register, inter-company/Bank/AP/AR/Inventory reconciliations, yearly

and periodic stock take, cash flow projection and taxation matters

4. Check and verify collections/payments from/to all accounts receivables/payable by cheques,

e-banking & petty cash to ensure that payments are in order and compliance with SOP and the

limits of authority

5. Provide guidance on managing the group’s expenditures, cost structures and tax payments by

streamlining business processes, improving operational efficiency and cost effectiveness and

achieving cost savings for the group.

6. Periodically review budgeted performance against actual performance of all companies within

the group.

7. Ensure that the group complies with the Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, Securities

Commission’s Policies and Guidelines, Malaysia Financial Reporting Standards and all

statutory requirements.

8. Review and constantly enhance the financial and management accounting system of the

companies within the group including standard operating procedure, accounting procedures

and the ERP.

9. Handle all regulatory and taxation compliance matters including tax computations, tax return

submission, tax payments / refund, tax planning, SST computation, SST return submission,

SST payments & SST planning of the group

10. Handle company legal and secretarial matters and liaise with external lawyer and company

secretary as and when required.

11. Liaise with the Group’s appointed auditors and tax agents.

12. Liaise with bankers and handle overall treasury function include LC, BA, Forex, Hedging &

relevant documents.

13. Conduct risk management and corporate governance assessments and recommend solutions

or action for directors’ approval.

14. To coordinate renewal of government related/statutory licenses as and when required.

15. To inform the superiors immediately if inconsistency and/or fraud is discovered in any

accounts/finance related matters.

16. Manage and perform any ad-hoc tasks/projects that may be assigned from time to time.

17. Willing and able to travel to Plantation in remote locations both in Malaysia and overseas

when required.
