Marine Claim Executive

Responsibilities:
Marine claims

• Receiving, recording, and processing incoming marine cargo, hull, and liability (both direct and reinsurance) claims
• Interpreting policies and determining coverage of claims made on insurance policies; handling cargo, hull and liability claims in accordance with policy limitations and escalating as required 
• Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders such as lawyers, representatives of P&I Clubs, owners, operators, insurers, and surveyors on all claims-related matters through to settlement and recovery 

Property claims

• Receiving, recording, and processing incoming property and liability direct insurance claims
• Reviewing loss adjuster reports to determine potential causes of action, merits of a successful recovery, evidence preservation and further investigations to be made to better the recovery prospects
• Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders such as lawyers, other parties’ insurers and loss adjusters on all claims-related matters through to settlement and recovery 

General Responsibilities

• Handling all correspondence and file administration
• Providing stakeholders with information and updates on claims and recovery activities

Requirements: 

• A degree or diploma in law
• Preferably at least 3 years’ experience and/or exposure to insurance claims handling and recovery 
• Proven analytical and numerical abilities
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure 
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• English proficiency essential, Mandarin skills desirable
