Job description:
- Support Management and operations staff for internal/external regulatory compliance
- With authorities related to Environment, Health and Safety; reporting to EHS Manager any clue of authority concerns
- Stay abreast with EHS regulations and actively applies knowledge to operation activities, projects and daily task and liase with relevant agencies (e.g. DOSH, DOE, Bomba, Local Authorities)
- Provide support in updates and maintain EHS management systems documentation ( e.g. SOP/ SWI / records)
- Maintains EHS filing system to ease compliance with recordkeeping requirements: DOSH, DOE Standard and legal compliance
- Provides support for the coordination of EHS internal & external activities such as: EHS Plans Programs, EHS training
- Support incident, injury and complaint investigations and propose corrective actions to be implemented
- Evaluate EHS regulatory permitting requirements and submit permit applications to applicable agencies
- Develop compliance training and documentation and conduct EHS trainings when required
- Update EHS Weekly Monthly Quarterly KPI performance report and circulate to the managers
- Participate on the development of EHS procedures/Policies, recommend changes when appropriate and tracking their implementation
- Organize and participate in regular site safety inspection, with department/area owners; report findings and follow up their correction & prevention
- Follow up all audits findings; and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of their corrective & preventive actions
- Support on organizing site EHS committee meetings with prepare MOM and following up all actions agreed in the committee meeting
- Support on risk assessment and provide tangible solutions to minimize and update HIRAC & Environmental Aspect and Impact and keep the latest revision
Job Requirements - Degree in Engineering
- DOE competent officer or Certified NIOSH Safety & Health Officer
- 5 or more years of working experience as an EHS Engineer in chemical/manufacturing/FMCG industry
- Past experiences in factory Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing or Maintenance
- Working knowledge of Malaysian EHS regulations, Malaysian codes and standards and industry consensus codes and standards;
- Practical experience in liaison with Government authorities
- Familiarity with SAP is an added advantage
- Willing to be based in Melaka
